The current Tattersalls Hotel is a 1938 rebuild of the double-storey building dating from 1904 which was destroyed by fire in 1936. The building has signature incorporated art deco stylings typical of the time, and is a monument within the little village.
The Tattersalls Hotel received a new lease of life when onetime resident Max Dunn purchased the hotel, fuelled partly by his nostalgia for the town he and his family lived in when he was a teenager. With his sister Phyllis as licensee and her partner, Ronnie, both ready and willing to roll up their sleeves, the hotel is in fantastic shape. The enterprising trio restored the bars, beer gardens and bistro to become fantastic, modern facilities, while still maintaining the ‘old pub’ feel with collectibles, memorabilia and the requisite stuffed cod lining the walls.
With motel rooms at the back, meals available seven days a week, friendly staff and cold beer always, the Tattersalls Hotel, Collarenebri is an essential stop on the Barwon Route.

Pubs and Breweries of Collarenebri
While history records six hotels in Collarenebri over a long period, it is possible that duplication was a factor. This was not uncommon, as the licensees were registered annually, and would sometimes change the name of the hotel depending on their preference.
